5 years ago I started VINYLSMACK and have enjoyed every minute of this journey of exploring different types of art and sharing it with you all. Today we get to say goodbye to that name and get to celebrate the evolution of the brand that represents my art. Say hello to WUNDERSMACK; the next phase of my personal brand. The logotype is still familiar in shape yet packed with equal parts wonder and vibrancy! Jutting right through the center is a paper airplane; a symbol that evokes wonder, excitement, and above all, fun. This is the core of what I want all of my art to convey. Throughout the logo, I have pointed shapes that reinforce the paper airplane theming; a way to accentuate an idea of wonder taking flight!
Now here’s the funny story behind my previous name if you never knew. I haven’t told many people. VINYL = Records and SMACK = Drugs. The name was a guised representation of my love for vinyl records. Music is my drug. I’ve been collecting records and writing music for over 20 years and I wanted a logo that snuck in my love for music and vinyl records. Unfortunately since most of my products don’t have any vinyl as a material, it created confusion so this is what prompted the change. Also, I was ready for a new name that reflects how I feel about my brand and where I want to see it going forward.
Welcome to the next chapter. Welcome to WUNDERSMACK.
